Good afternoon, Garfield Families,
As we get closer and closer to the holiday break, I have a few reminders for you.
- First, by now you have heard that Garfield will not be a K-4 building for the2017-18 school year. We are saddened by this news, however are determined to have a proactive, positive attitude as we move forward and make plans for the transitions. Please check your child's backpack for an important letter from me and a letter from the district outlining new boundaries for Garfield students for the 2017-18 school year. This letter will help answer questions you have regarding which school your child will attend next school year.
- Next, if you have Popcornopolis Fundraiser popcorn to pick up, please visit our front office. It's waiting for you!
- I'd like to extend another invitation for our PTA DADS (or uncles, or grandfathers) to register for the Livonia PTSA Chili Cook-Off. It will be Jan. 14, 11am-2pm, at Franklin High School. Please try to register before the holiday break if you are interested in participating. We would love to see Garfield represented at this fun-filled, chili-filled event! Registration forms are available from the office.
- Join us tomorrow for the Holiday Sing-Along, from 10:45-11:30, in the gym. Also, remember tomorrow is a HALF DAY, and dismissal is at 12:10.
And finally, I wish all of our Garfield families a blessed, happy holiday, and a happy new year! There is much to be accomplished in 2017, and we will work together to make it happen!
